  • Hughes House

    Hughes House is a 6 bedroom Shelter that provides housing for domestic violence and abused victims in Cullman County.  Each year the shelter provides a safe haven for over 100 families and individuals who are being physically, sexually, or emotionally abused and have no safe place to go.

  • Domestic Violence Intervention Program (DVIP)

    Hughes House is a 6 bedroom Shelter that provides housing for domestic violence and abused victims in Cullman County.  Each year the shelter provides a safe haven for over 100 families and individuals who are being physically, sexually, or emotionally abused and have no safe place to go.

  • Transition Program/ Housing

    The Transition Program is designed to equip and assist participants in their transition to independent living. Steps are structured in sequence to include job research, career development, finding a home, and general life skills development.

  • Support for Kids in Transistion (SKIT)

    SKIT is a 4 session program for children going through 'tough times' such as domestic violence, abuse, divorce, homelessness, loss of a parent, moving homes/schools, substance abuse, new surroundings, or any other situation that creates an unstable environment for the child. This program focuses on the following areas: Self Esteem, Decision-Making skills, Family & Friends, and Substance Abuse.

  • Systematic Training for Effective Parenting (STEP)

    STEP is a 8 session parenting course that focuses on the following: Understanding Yourself and Your Child, Understanding Beliefs and Feelings, Encouraging Your Child and Yourself, Listening and Talking with your child, Helping Children Cooperate, Discipline that makes sense, and choosing your approach.

  • Individual Parenting Classes

    Individual Parenting classes is where parents are assisted in developing and following an individualized parenting plan targeted to their family's needs.

  • Domestic Violence Support Group

    Domestic Violence Support Group is designed to promote healing and support for victim/survivors of Domestic Violence and abuse through facilitator-led discussion and group sharing.

  • Individual Counseling

    Individual Counseling is one-on-one counseling for victims of domestic violence and/or sexual assault.

  • Court Advocacy

    Assist clients with various court-related procedures such as Protection from Abuse Orders (PFA), SAIL program, Crime Victims Compensation, Divorce, attorney assistance programs, Legal Services, court accompaniment, Safety planning, and other as needed assistance.
